C.Y. Bourgeois began writing in 2006 as a way to cope with the death of her father.  In 2011, she completed and published a young adult novel, 2013 Paris Book Festival award winner, Visions of You, and a novella, The Concrete Gnome.      

In 2009, C.Y. and her husband moved from Alaska to northern Idaho where she recently completed The Whispering of Trees, a multiple 2016 award winning YA novel (Maxy Award & Paris Book Festival Award), and the first installment of a middle-grade series entitled, The Secret Sisterhood of Ninjas.  She is now typing her fingers to the bone on Visions of Mortality, the sequel to Visions of You and a chapter book tentaviely entitled Olivia and the Harvestman.
